Change, Adapt, Evolve: Perspectives on Mid-Altantic Production Community
The Discovery building is now empty. Multiple production companies and post houses have closed or moved out of the Washington, DC metro area. Freelancers are following work to New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles. How do the many companies and professionals survive in the Washington/Maryland/Virginia region with so much changing in this once thriving hub of the entertainment industry? The heads of several divisions of Three Seas, Inc. (Clean Cuts, Cerebral Lounge, The Noise Distillery & The Gigawatt Group) will talk about how they have adapted and changed their facilities, services and future business plans in response to the recent changes seen in the DC region. Creative direction. Production vs post. Longform vs shortform. Branded, corporate, marketing, politicals, and social media content. New technology. VR & AR. Video games and 360 immersive audio. Smart choices are vital, but everyone needs to be versatile and ready to adjust at any moment.
