Bio
Irene A. Magafan is an Emmy Award winning filmmaker, a video archivist and editor at World Wildlife Fund, and a freelance actor and voiceover actor. She is a member of SAG-AFTRA and Women in Film & Video. Her short film 'The Bonobo Connection', narrated by Ashley Judd, received multiple awards and honors from film festivals. Irene gave a TED Talk on bonobos in March of 2017. She worked as a video archivist/videographer and photographer at the National Gallery of Art, and a Project Manager and Video Producer at RHED Pixel. Irene has worked on various films and TV shows such as Hannibal, Traffic, The Wedding Crashers, Evan Almighty, HBO’s The Sopranos and The Wire. Irene holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Film & Electronic Media from American University. Irene directed and co-produced the short doc, 'Hands on the Future' which won honors at the DC Environmental Film Festival. She was part of a production team who won a National Emmy Award for 'Eco Views: The Chesapeake Bay', which aired on Maryland Public Television.
