Gary Sejour enlisted in the U.S. army at the age of 18 for what was supposed to be a four-year trek to earn college tuition turn into a 22-year career that culminated with retirement in 2006. During his enlistment, he served in a myriad of duty assignments ranging from Platoon Sergeant to interpreter in locations from Germany to Haiti and many parts of the US. He spent most of his military career as a visual communicator in the photo and video fields. It was his love of teaching that brought him back to the Defense Information School as a civilian. First as an instructor in the Basic Mass Communication Course then currently as an Academic Director, Mass Communication Foundations Department.
