Bio
Amy Leniart is an award-winning producer, director, writer and editor. She is a visual storyteller and science communicator at the forefront of digital engagement.

Amy is currently the Senior Producer and Director at NASA Headquarters. In this role, Amy creates broadcast TV programs and social media videos to educate the public about NASA missions. Amy served as the Script Supervisor and Lead Writer of the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse Broadcast which reached over 40 million digital viewers and an estimated 600 million broadcast audience. Amy has produced multiple video series for the flagship social media accounts including-- NASA’s 60th Anniversary series, the Apollo 50th Anniversary series and #AskNASA. Additionally, she was the Video Producer for the agency’s TV broadcast honoring Apollo 11’s first historic moonwalk.

In partnership the National Nanotechnology Coordination Office and National Institute for Standard and Technology, Amy won an Emmy Award in the technology program category for Innovation Workshop: Nanotechnology

In partnership with the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Amy won an Emmy Award in the educational program category for Flight School: On the Red Planet.

Through well-crafted stories and high-quality production, Amy brings science stories to light to educate the public.
