Whether you’re creating content or capturing late-breaking news, Washington, D.C. has much to offer in the media and entertainment industry. Hear firsthand how Director of Photography Michael F. Cormier got his start locally after getting his hands on a camera at Falls Church Cable Access in Northern Virginia. Cormier has filmed TLC’s reality series “D.C. Cupcakes” in the heart of Georgetown, HGTV’s “Curb Appeal” and “Design to Sell” around the nation’s capital and “Vice” on HBO in the halls of Congress. He shot a documentary about the Washington Capitals Stanley Cup win, covered a significant case before the Supreme Court of the United States concerning the rights of the LGBTQ community and worked on branding campaigns for Sephora and Marie Claire. He also shot the Obama’s talk with the filmmakers for “American Factory,” their first Netflix documentary.
